I have to confess that I am far, far, far away from being a flower specialist. The truth is, if I can name a dozen different types of flowers...that is a lot.
I look at them. They look so beautiful. No clue what they are called. But hey, you have to agree with me that some of them have some very crazy, funny names. Others even have first and last name (rain lily, gloriosa lily, canna lilies, calla lilies, crinum lily...)Due to my lack of knowledge in the garden field, flowers have really gotten my attention within the last few months. After all, what is a wedding without flowers?? They are the beauty, the inspiration & the life of most wedding's ceremony and reception.
As an Autumn Bride, I started a bloom search, looking for everything related to FF (fall flowers), and let me tell you, they are gorgeous!
I am still undecided about my flowers but I am sure that a good florist will help me put something very nice together. If you have any picture or suggestion please let me know.
Some other options for fall flowers are: Sunflower, scabious, gladioli, gloriosa, aster, marigold, chrysanthemum, cotoneaster, cyclamen, hydrangea, amaryllis, primula, viburnum, daphne, iris and narcissus.
Oh, and did I mention that they have funny names?

is a very useful site to find different types of flowers based on color, price range, and type of wedding. If you click on a flower they will tell you when they are in season and what the price range is. I am also less than knowledgeable about flower species so I found this to be a useful tool! Happy flower hunting!
I'd guess that a florist would know a lot better of what's in season in your area than anyone else.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah I know nothing about flowers aside from smelling them and having a few cheap favorites.
